TEAM ACCEPTANCE

  • The Showcase Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any team application
  • No team shall be deemed accepted unless written notification has been sent from the Showcase Director, Scott Hunt. Written communication directly with the team contact is the only “official” acceptance.
  • Once accepted by the Showcase Committee, the application fee is non-refundable.
  • Accepted teams are required to have laminated USYS or US Club player passes and medical release forms
  • Participation fees which are returned from any bank for any reason WILL NOT be re-deposited. The amount of the check plus a $25 fee (cashier’s check or money order) must be received at the Neusport Office within 7 days.

ROSTER & PLAYER DOCUMENTATION

GUEST PLAYERS
Five (5) guest/loan players will be permitted per team with properly completed guest/loan player forms. For ODP teams and select teams, follow the residing state’s guidelines for travel.

TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The team listed first on the schedule is the home team.
  • Home team (first team listed on the schedule) will be required to change jerseys in the event of a color conflict.
  • Coaches and Players will occupy the same side of the field in designated areas while Spectators will sit on the opposite side.

PLAYER CREDENTIALS AND UNIFORMS

  • Player Picture identification cards are to be present and available at all matches.
  • The Field Marshal will check all player identification cards prior to each match.
  • The shirt number of the player must be the same as the player’s shirt number on the game roster. If the numbers are not the same, the referee shall not allow the player to participate in the game until the numbers are the same.

LAWS OF THE GAME

  • FIFA Laws of the game shall apply to all matches with following modifications in accordance with UYSSNV guidelines.

  • LENGTH OF GAMES
    Listed as below or as determined by the referee. All teams are guaranteed 4 games over three days.

  • INJURY TIME
    Referees will be instructed not to add time to a game except in the most extenuating of circumstances.

  • SUBSTITUTIONS
    Free substitution will be allowed only with the referees permission and only as follows:
    • Prior to a throw-in by the team in possession.
    • Prior to a goal kick by either team.
    • After a goal is scored by either team.
    • For injured player if play is stopped.
    • At half time.
    • A player receiving a caution (yellow card) MAY be substituted for at that time.

  • PLAYER EQUIPMENT
    • All players must wear shin guards during all matches. Players not in compliance will be CAUTIONED (yellow carded) and sent off the field until the requirement is met.
    • No jewelry may be worn during the competition.
    • Players wearing hard orthopedic casts will not be allowed to play if it determined to be a risk to other players by the referee. Players with a cast must obtain Showcase athletic trainers and game referee’s approval prior to each match to participate. The ultimate authority is the referee in deciding if the cast is safe for player to participate.
    • Players shall wear approved cleats.

SHOWCASE AND MATCH SCHEDULES

  • Showcase Format
    • All teams will be guaranteed four games.
    • No teams shall play more than two games on the same day
  • Referees
    • All matches shall use Federation Certified referees. Three-referee system shall be used on all matches.
  • Inclement Weather
    • In the event of inclement weather, the Showcase Committee reserves the right to modify all tournament rules in order to safely and fairly end the tournament successfully.
    • Contingency Plan:
      • Plan A. All games will be played as scheduled. Plan will not change before Friday.
      • Plan B. Shorten all Friday games to 2 x 20 or as necessary.
      • Plan C: Plan B plus shorten all Saturday games to 2 x 20 or as necessary.
      • Plan D: Plan C plus shorten all Sunday games.
      • Plan E: In the event the fields become totally unplayable due to inclement weather, it may be necessary to decide some games with kicks from the mark.
    • The Showcase Committee will do whatever is necessary to play all games; however, the safety of the players is paramount. Along with safety, damage to the fields will be considered in making the decision to cancel any games.
  • Refund Policy
    There will be no refunds for teams withdrawing after the acceptance into the Las Vegas College Showcase.

FORFEITS

  • If the team is not able to field a team after 5 minutes of the start time of the match, it will be considered a forfeit.
  • A team will be allowed to play with a minimum of 7 players.
  • A team that forfeits a single match shall be allowed to complete the preliminary round games at the discretion of the Showcase Director but will not be eligible for the championship round.
  • The game score will be recorded as 1-0 in favor of the team that was present at the game time. The scores of the remaining games for that team will not be altered.

STANDINGS AND TIE-BREAKERS

  • Game Points
    • Points will be awarded for each game in accordance with the following schedule:
      • Three points for a WIN
      • One points for a TIE
      • Zero points for a LOSS
    • For a forfeited game, the winner will be credited with a 1-0 win and awarded three points.
    • The results of that game shall be based on the score at the time of the abandonment.
    • Teams are allowed a maximum of 5 minutes from game time to forfeit time. NO points will be awarded if neither team shows up.
  • Tie Breaking Within a Bracket/Division
    In the event of a points tie, places will be determined as follows:
    • Head to head.
    • Goal differential (maximum of 5 goal difference per game).
    • Least goals allowed.
    • Most goals scored (maximum of 5 goals per game).
    • Most shutouts.
    • Penalty kicks.

MATCH AND SCORE REPORTING

  • The referee shall submit the game card that includes the match result, cautions and ejections to the field marshal. Field marshal shall submit the game cards to the Showcase Director immediately after the conclusion of each game.
  • The Showcase Director shall post the scores on the scoreboard at the match site and on the Las Vegas College Showcase website. The Showcase Director shall ensure that match cautions and suspensions are enforced.

PROTESTS & DISPUTES

  • Protests will not be allowed.
    • Game conduct is under the jurisdiction of the referee and the showcase will not overrule a referee’s decision.
  • The Showcase Director or his designee is the final authority in all matters and reserves the right to alter the format to enhance fair play.
  • The decision by referees may not be appealed, and the decisions by the showcase director are final and may not be appealed.

CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE

  • Verbal abuse of any kind by spectators and participants shall not be allowed at the Showcase site.
    • The violators will be reported to authorities and escorted off the field.
  • NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AT OR NEAR THE FIELDS.
    • There will be no smoking allowed at the soccer complexes. No animals are allowed at the showcase sites.
  • EJECTION
    • USYSA-Nevada rules prohibit any player or team official ejected from a match, or suspended by the proper authority, to be within sight or hearing distance of the field of play during his/her suspension. A player or team official receiving two cautions (yellow cards) in a single game is considered to have been given an ejection (red card) for the purposes of awarding points for the showcase competition. A player or coach who has been ejected (sent off), shall not be replaced and will be suspended from the teams next scheduled match. A player or coach who has been ejected for VIOLENT CONDUCT shall not be allowed to participate in the next TWO scheduled games (subject to review by the Showcase Committee). Any player or team official who assaults a referee will be expelled from the Showcase. FIGHTING will not be tolerated for any reason. Players sent off for fighting (striking or attempting to strike another player) will not be allowed to participate in any further showcase games. Players, team officials, or spectators who enter the field of play for any reason in the event of a fight will be ejected from the Showcase. If the players cannot be identified, the entire team will be removed from the Showcase. No refunds will be made to any team that is removed from the Showcase.
  • Reports of Disciplinary Actions
    • For teams from United Sates, at the conclusion of the Showcase, a report shall be prepared by the Showcase Director and submitted to Nevada State Association. For players, coaches and teams that require disciplinary action, their conduct will be reported to their respective State Association.
    • For CONCACAF teams, the Showcase Director shall notify the US Soccer Federation of disciplinary action taken, and the Federation shall transmit the disciplinary action taken or required to that team¹s provincial or national association.

GAME BALLS

  • The Las Vegas College Showcase Committee shall supply the game balls. All balls shall be FIFA approved balls.
